Testimonials

"I came to Canada as a refugee, escaping war in my country with no preparation and nowhere to go. Life here was overwhelming; I had no confidence, and no connections, and spent my first days living in a shelter. Everything felt hopeless.
When I started working with Parvin, I wasn’t expecting much just someone to talk to, maybe get some advice. But after our first meeting, things started to change. She helped me rebuild my self-awareness, and face the traumas I had never spoken about, and most importantly, she helped me regain my confidence.
Together, we set realistic goals and worked towards rebuilding my life. Now, I’ve moved out of the shelter, rented a place, returned to high school, and recently, I was accepted to college to study computer programming. None of this would have been possible without her kindness, encouragement, and unwavering support. Parvin gave me hope when I had none. She helped me piece my life back together, and I am forever grateful."

In “The Big, Brown Suitcase: A Woman's Journey to Freedom,” readers are provided an inside look at the social, political and personal obstacles she faced on her journey from the revolution to attempting to flee her country. Kolahdooz hopes to encourage readers to pursue their dreams despite their fears.
“One message I want readers to take away is that courage comes from taking a step toward what they think is right for them, even if it is a small step,” Kolahdooz said.
Kolahdooz reveals how she confronted deeply ingrained cultural beliefs and inner conflicts, ultimately discovering an inner strength that enabled her to follow the right path toward a better life. She now dedicates her life towards helping individuals unlock their full potential and how to navigate their lives with confidence.
“I want readers to know that their negative beliefs about themselves and the world around them can keep them from pursuing their dreams,” Kolahdooz said. “To achieve their dream, readers must recognize and change their old beliefs.”
